Hi there! I'm Luis Cásedas, a postdoctoral researcher associated with the ERC-funded project CONNECTS at the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC), University of Granada. I enjoy learning about the fundamental workings of the mind. So far, my work has mainly contributed to uncovering the mechanisms and consequences of meditation practice through experimental, meta-analytic, and theoretical approaches.
Before joining CONNECTS, I held a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Cognition, Attention and Learning Lab, led by Prof. Miguel A. Vadillo (Autonomous University of Madrid). I undertook my doctoral training at the Cognitive Neuroscience Group, CIMCYC, under the supervision of Prof. Juan Lupiáñez, including a research stay at Prof. Jonathan W. Schooler’s META Lab (University of California, Santa Barbara). Prior to my PhD, I completed an MSc in Neuroscience and Cognition at Utrecht University, which included a research stay at the Oxford Centre for Emotions and Affective Neuroscience, led by Prof. Elaine Fox (University of Oxford). My academic path began with a Degree in Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid.
My publications and SciComm work can be found under the Main tab. The INMINDS tab is home to the Insights in Mind Sciences interview series, an outreach initiative featuring conversations with scientists from diverse, often multidisciplinary backgrounds on topics relevant to our understanding of the mind. I am also on ResearchGate, Bluesky, and LinkedIn. You can contact me at luis.casedas (at) gmail (dot) com or via this form.
